Bali The Paradise Island, Part 3, Pura Taman Ayun-Alas Kedaton

 Pura Taman Ayun

Besides Kuta I've visited other tourist attractions in Bali, Pura Taman Ayun Mengwi. The word "Pura" means the Temple. Taman Ayun in Bali language, meaning beautiful garden.

Taman Ayun is one of the tourist destinations in Bali which is a relic of the king of Mengwi In ancient times. This temple was built in the typical architecture of Bali which has a range of typical Balinese carved ornaments. This temple is surrounded by fish ponds which makes this temple floating above the water. This temple is located in Badung Menguwi village about 18 km from Denpasar.

This temple was built around 1634 by the first king of mengwi. Pura Taman Ayung has three functions: First as "Pura Penyawangan", which means the place of prayer. The second temple serves to unite people. The third temple also has an economic function because the water contained in the pool is also used as a source of water for irrigation.

Alas Kedaton

The next destination is Kedaton Alas, a small forest which, according to existing data is 12 acres of which there are approximately 300 free-living monkeys roam. Alas Kedaton located about 25km northwest of the city of Denpasar, Pakraman Kukuh Village, Tabanan, Bali. In this area there is a temple called Pura Alas Kedaton. Temple is very unique because it has an entrance from the 4-way, west door is the main door, other doors from the east, north, and south of which are headed to the middle of the temple yard.

He explained about the communicative temple and all that is here. Besides the monkey, there are other tame animals, large free-living bats hanging in the trees.
